Australian thieves used a stolen Honda Civic to smash their way into a Gucci boutique to steal clothing and handbags in the center of Sydney, where a range of luxury labels have their stores.
The thieves spent up to 10 minutes collecting designer handbags, clothing, jewellery and footwear worth tens of thousands of dollars before fleeing in a second vehicle.
The raid follows a similar attack on the Louis Vuitton store, on March 14. Five bandits used sledgehammers to break into Louis Vuitton luxury boutique and steal handbags and jewellery worth tens of thousands of dollars.
Police Inspector Greg Rosman said luxury stores were a desirable target for thieves and police were looking at links between the Louis Vuitton and Gucci robberies.
