Liberty, the luxury London department store, has reported record Christmas trading, Telegraph website reports.
Over two consecutive days in that week, sales totalled almost £1m, with fashion accessories, beauty products and fine jewellery among the best-selling products.
Liberty said that “trading picked up dramatically” in the first week of December as the store recorded its “highest ever normal day’s sales”.
Liberty of London branded products, which the company is relying on to pull it back into profitability, “performed superbly”, said Iain Renwick, the chief executive.
Liberty plans to roll out the brand overseas, beginning in Japan.
