Hyundai Plans to Enter Luxury Car Market

Hyundai is preparing to enter the luxury car market in the hope of emulating the success of rivals such as Toyota, Nissan and Volkswagen, the Financial Times reports.

Hyundai plans to show a concept – or prototype – version of a six-cylinder, rear-wheel drive sedan, code-named the BH, at the New York automotive show in April.

Steve Wilhite, chief operating officer of Hyundai’s US unit, said the carmaker had yet to decide whether to create a separate luxury brand, as Toyota has done with its Lexus marque, Nissan with Infiniti and Volkswagen with Audi.
