Gratien is a privately owned Champagne house that produces limited quantities of very superior Champagnes on the market.
Gratien Brut Millesime 1997 has the depth and yeasty complexity of a far older Champagne, and it will work marvelously both as an aperitif and as a luxurious accompaniment to lighter foods.
A hand-crafted blend of 60% Chardonnay, 30% Pinot Noir, and 10% Pinot Meunier. Alfred Gratien only uses grapes from the best crus of the Cote des Blancs, the Montagne de Reims, and the Marne Valley.
Like all of Alfred Gratien’s Champagnes, the base wine was fermented and aged in small oak casks for 6 months.
